Job summary

Huawei Canada has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Technical Recruiter. The HR team partners with hiring managers to attract, source, and interview talent across the technology sector, with a focus on AI and niche technical roles.

The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end recruitment, lead sourcing strategies, conduct talent mapping, and negotiate compensation. This role supports multiple managers and participates in co-op recruitment cycles and career events.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in sourcing and recruiting within the technology sector.

Responsibilities

• Manage the recruitment process end-to-end including sourcing, interviewing, and selection.
• Implement sourcing strategies to target niche technical roles and maintain a diverse candidate pool.
• Conduct talent mapping and identify top technical candidates.
• Negotiate compensation packages and lead the offer process.
• Collaborate with Recruitment Coordinator to administer approvals and document management.
• Partner with hiring managers to ensure timely, quality hiring decisions.
• Participate in career fairs, networking events, and other recruitment initiatives.
• Contribute to triannual co-op recruitment cycles and meet tight deadlines for high-volume interviewing.

About the job:

• Manage the recruitment process end-to-end and effectively attract, source, and interview candidates.


• Implement sourcing strategies to target niche technical roles and maintain a diverse and qualified candidate pool.


• Conduct talent mapping and other activities to identify and target top technical talent.


• Negotiate compensation packages with candidates and create compensation package proposals while leading the negotiation and offer process.


• Alongside the Recruitment Coordinator, administrate the approval process. Collect and create candidate documentation and maintain document management best practices.


• Work closely with hiring managers in a consultative manner ensuring the best hiring decisions are made and in a timely manner.


• Participate in career fairs, networking events, and potentially other projects or recruitment initiatives.


• Participate in triannual co-op recruitment cycles. Meet tight deadlines for high-volume interviewing and selection.

The total target annual compensation (based on 2,080 hours per year) ranges from $48,000 to $94,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in sourcing and recruiting within the technology sector, with a strong passion on the AI industry.


• Ability to produce quality results working under minimal supervision.


• Positive attitude and a team player.


• Ability to quickly create relationships with hard-to-find candidates through strong communication skills.


• Detail-oriented and not afraid of multiple-step processes.


• Passionate about talent acquisition and up-to-date on industry best practices, thinking innovatively and outside-the-box for talent attraction strategies.


• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.


• Ability to support multiple hiring managers and manage multiple vacancies at a time, with a sense of urgency.
