Disney Cruise Line (DCL), a division of The Walt Disney Company, operates a fleet of six premium cruise ships and is a leader in family vacations at sea. DCL Entertainment (Toronto) serves as the rehearsal hub for DCL’s theatrical productions, creating memorable family entertainment in a state-of-the-art facility. The Technical Production Supervisor, based in Toronto and reporting to the DCL Production Manager, collaborates with creative and production teams on technical needs and operations within the rehearsal facility, including mainstage shows, character operations, and shipwide entertainment. This role involves representing Disney Cruise Line Entertainment and the Walt Disney Company in Canada and globally, engaging with theatre professionals, performers, and leadership.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate as a technician during rehearsals and training sessions.
  • Support and collaborate with Creative and Production teams.
  • Manage rehearsal rooms, offices, AV systems, and facility storage.
  • Provide leadership, training, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation for technical facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Maintain show integrity and quality of shore-side technical operations.
  • Handle installation, setup, operation, testing, and special effects equipment.
  • Oversee rigging equipment and perform inspections and maintenance.
  • Train team members on technical equipment handling and care.
  • Manage technical administration, computer systems, and network interfaces.
  • Maintain documentation, organize facilities, and support maintenance routines.
  • Coordinate with vendors, support special events, and occasionally travel for rehearsals or technical support onboard ships.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ experience as a technician, preferably with Disney or similar live entertainment.
  • Experience in technical leadership roles preferred.
  • Proficiency with automated rigging, troubleshooting, and safety at height.
  • Experience with audio systems, video systems, and maintenance of costumes, props, and scenery.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Teams, Zoom).
  • Willingness to travel internationally, including maritime environments.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent in technical theatre or live entertainment.
