Job summary

Staples in Canada is seeking a Retail Technology Technical Product Owner to evaluate and implement new solutions and deliver proof-of-concept projects for employees and customers. You will serve as the conduit between Technology and lines of business, translating business requirements into technical execution while liaising with diverse stakeholders to assess impact on processes and engagement.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years as a business analyst or technical role within retail.
• 5+ years in large-scale technology implementations across an organization.
• Strong knowledge of emerging or available retail products and solutions.
• Degree in business, economics or engineering with relevant work experience.
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of IT Retail Technology and Infrastructure.
• You are a creative problem solver who thinks digital first and can work in an ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Work with business stakeholders to identify solutions which enable their line of business.
• Research and assess new technologies and provide recommendations to leadership team.
• Champion the needs of the business throughout the product lifecycle and ensuring what is delivered meets the original objectives.
• Ensure successful product delivery by proactively identifying risk and implementations migrations.
• Create and maintain product roadmaps for the applications within your portfolio.
• Provide updates to senior leadership on health and progress of product roadmaps.
• Always be on the lookout for ways to improve process and implement new technologies.
• Work within a team of product owners, developers and quality assurance analysts.
• Partners with vendors on current and future product needs; supports RFQ processes with vendors.
• Identify, communicate and/or escape issues, risks/dependencies, change requests and status to manage stakeholders’ expectations.

• 5+ years in large scale technology implementations across an organization
• Strong knowledge of emerging or available retail products and solutions
• Degree in business, economics or engineering with relevant work experience
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of IT Retail Technology and Infrastructure.
• You are a creative problem solver who thinks digital first and can work in an ambiguous environments
• A team player who is willing to share knowledge within the team and help others grow
• You are always up to date on new technologies and how the industry is changing
• A strong understanding of retail applications and operation models
• Can distill complex details into a concise and clean manner for decision making purposes

Physical Demands/working Conditions

Office environment – Hybrid, with 4 days onsite in Richmond Hill, subject to the hybrid policy.
