Job summary

Long View is seeking a Technical Generalist Consultant to join our Calgary team. You will support and deliver Microsoft-based solutions, lead deployments, and help shape future-ready infrastructures across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.

In an Agile setting, you will deepen your technical mastery, provide onsite and remote guidance, and contribute to world-class solutions that improve client outcomes. The role targets a client-first mindset and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years implementing and supporting Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, virtualization, storage, and backup solutions.
• Deep experience across Windows Server technologies including Hyper‑V, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, DFS, GPO, Failover Clustering.
• Experience with Tanium and Intune for device management and patching; PKI/Certificate Infrastructure.
• Server backup solutions including CommVault, Metallic, etc.
• Experience with Server Virtualization, MS OS imaging/deployment using MDT/Tanium, scripting/automation, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer computer networks and related environments including hardware, systems software, applications, and configurations.
• Provide onsite and remote guidance to clients, supporting their Microsoft technology stack.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues; implement security updates and patching.
• Configure and test computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
• Gather and analyze customer requirements to predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network needs.
• Manage day-to-day administration, support, maintenance and monitoring of Microsoft technologies (Azure and cloud services).
• Contribute to operational management and support of client environments to ensure uptime and performance.

We’re searching for an experienced and forward‑thinking Technical Generalist Consultant to join our Calgary team. In this role, you’ll support and deliver cutting‑edge Microsoft based solutions that align with our client's goals and industry best practices.

Your expertise across the Microsoft and other generalist technology stack will be key as you lead deployments, operations, and help shape future‑ready infrastructures.

A Day in the Life:

• Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including hardware, systems software, applications, and configurations

• Provide onsite and remote guidance to clients, supporting their entire Microsoft technology stack

• Recommend and assist with integrating new technologies, tools, and processes

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues, including escalation situations

• Implement system and network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware (OS updates, monthly and out of band patching, etc..)

• Configure and test computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software

• Analyze equipment performance records to determine when repair or replacement is required

• Recommend improvements to systems and network configurations and determine hardware or software requirements for proposed changes

• Gather and analyze customer requirements to predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network needs

• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations across cloud and on‑prem environments

• Assist with incident, problem, and change management processes and documentation

• Contribute to operational management and support of client environments—ensuring uptime, performance, and efficiencies

• Manage the day‑to‑day administration, support, maintenance, and monitoring of Microsoft technologies including Azure, and related cloud services

• Other duties as required

What You Bring:

• 7+ years implementing and supporting Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, virtualization, storage, and backup solutions

• Deep experience across Windows Server technologies, including:

  • Hyper‑V / SCVMM

  • Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, DFS, GPO

  • Failover Clustering

  • Tanium and Intune for device management and patching

  • Solid understanding of PKI / Certificate Infrastructure in enterprise environments

  • Server backup solutions including CommVault, Metallic, etc.

• Experience with:

  • Server Virtualization

  • Microsoft OS imaging, deployment & management using MDT, Tanium, or similar

  • Scripting & automation capabilities for systems management and software deployment

  • Strong documentation skills for implementations, troubleshooting, and workarounds

  • SAN based storage solutions (NetApp, etc.)

  • Microsoft Azure and associated Microsoft cloud-based services (AAD, EntraID, Enterprise Applications, SSO, M365/O365, etc..)

• Scripting & automation capabilities for systems management and software deployment

• Strong documentation skills for implementations, troubleshooting, and workarounds

• Ability to adapt to multiple client environments with a strong client‑first mindset

$80,455 - $105,598 a year

Expected Base Salary Range. Plus Additional Variable Incentives.
