Boardwalk provides Canadians with a quality, comfortable, home living experience. We offer rental apartments and townhouses in various shapes, sizes, and amenities. We operate 33,000 units across Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Quebec.

We are seeking a results-driven Technical Business Analyst to join our team. This role requires a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in office), based in Calgary, Alberta. If applying from out of province, please specify your willingness to relocate.

In this role, you will support business stakeholders and technical teams from requirements gathering through deployment and sustainment of technology solutions, primarily custom software solutions. The successful candidate will have strong technical business analysis skills and an entrepreneurial spirit with familiarity with common business practices.

Roles And Responsibilities

1. Work closely with business and technical teams to design and implement technology solutions that meet requirements.
2. Support all development lifecycle phases including analysis, testing, deployment, post-production support, documentation, and training.
3. Create business cases for initiatives, gathering relevant inputs, constraints, assumptions, and business value.
4. Conduct requirement gathering sessions and define business requirements into well-defined user stories with acceptance criteria.
5. Analyze existing processes for effectiveness and efficiency, and suggest improvements.
6. Present findings clearly and concisely.
7. Lead and complete smaller projects or initiatives.
8. Research third-party tools to meet business needs.
9. Engage third-party vendors and consultants as needed.
10. Document business process flows and user journeys.
11. Develop ad hoc reports using SQL and PowerBI.
12. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.

Experience And Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years proven experience as a Business Analyst.

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in analysis models (SWOT, root cause, process modeling, stakeholder, gap analysis).
• Data analysis skills using SQL, PowerBI, Excel.
• Basic understanding of coding, API integrations, data mapping.
• Knowledge of statistical techniques and awareness of machine learning and AI trends.
• Experience with SCRUM and agile environments, familiarity with tools like Microsoft DevOps is a plus.
