Appleby College is seeking a Technical Assistant (Seasonal) for the Summer Camp Programs in Oakville, Ontario. The role is part-time starting June and full-time from June 28 to August 27, 2027, with a compensation range of 20.00–28.71 CAD per hour.

The successful candidate will support camp staff with technology, A/V equipment, troubleshooting, and activity setup, while maintaining inventories and assisting with daily operations across multiple camps.

Qualifications

• Minimum second year post-secondary education in CS or IT.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and organization skills.
• Experience mentoring staff and supporting youth in a learning environment.

Responsabilités

• Act as a liaison between Appleby IT team and Camps.
• Assist instructors with troubleshooting technology and A/V equipment.
• Maintain laptop and equipment inventory and assist with repairs.
• Support instructors and head staff with activity setup and daily operations.
• Assist in ensuring attendance systems and digital resources run smoothly.
• Float between camps as needed and assist with instruction in STEM areas.

The Technical assistant will support camp staff with technology, audiovisual equipment, and troubleshooting. Maintain equipment inventories, assist with activity setup, and help technology‑based programs and daily camp operations run smoothly.

WHAT IS AMAZING ABOUT THIS JOB:

YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU:

• Completed minimum second year post-secondary education with experience in Computer Science or I.T.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and organization skills.
• Proficient with robotics, coding, and design software including Python, Photoshop, and Premiere.
• Experience mentoring staff and supporting youth in a learning environment.
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR – C or higher.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

WORK SCHEDULE

Training & Pre-Camp

• Friday, June 4, 2027: Evening
• Saturday, June 5, 2027: Full Day
• Sunday, June 6, 2027: Full Day
• Saturday, June 26, 2027: Full Day

Camp Session Dates & Hours

• Camp Work: as assigned Monday June 28 to Friday August 27, 2027 (excluding holidays)
• Weekdays 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
• Weekdays 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
