Job summary

Appleby College in Oakville offers seasonal summer camps where the Program Assistant supports the Sports & Adventure Director, assists with instruction, equipment, and daily operations, and helps with camper drop-off and pick-up.

Qualifications

• Completed second year of post-secondary education with experience in instructing Sports or Adventure programs.
• Strong athletic and coaching skills in recreation or camp setting.
• Organized and confident leading activities in front of groups.
• Experience facilitating sports competitions, warm-ups, and adventure programming.
• Valid Intermediate First Aid and CPR – C or higher.
• Knowledge or certification in canoeing, ropes, or lifeguarding is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license is an asset.

• Assist the Sports & Adventure Program Director and Head Instructors with all Sports Camp programs.
• Assist with equipment inventory management for Sports & Adventure camps.
• Support all Sports & Adventure programs and instruct when required.
• Help organize and co-host cross-camp tournaments and activities.
• Ensure compliance with Appleby’s Sports & Adventure procedures and safety protocols.
• Aid in safe drop-off and pick-up for all campers, engaging with parents and guardians.
• Assist in daily camp operations including lunch supervision and transitions.
