The Team

Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) is the innovative technology engine powering Scotiabank’s Corporate, Investment Banking, and Capital Markets divisions.

The Role

GBME seeks a Technical Analyst to act as a liaison between business stakeholders and internal engineering and architecture teams, ensuring timely, efficient, high-quality project delivery.

The ideal candidate will possess a results-oriented, curious mindset, with strong technical skills. You will collaborate with engineers, solutions architects, and business teams to develop scalable, excellent solutions that deliver value to our partners and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and identify improvements.
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive business specifications and requirements documentation.
  • Create and deliver Business Requirements Documents, Design Documents, Use Cases, and Process Models.
  • Develop detailed project plans, monitor progress, review finances, and secure stakeholder consensus.
  • Work closely with GBME technology teams throughout the system development lifecycle.
  • Bridge communication between business and IT to meet user needs.
  • Build relationships and communicate effectively across regions.
  • Support production issues and handle escalations during releases.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience working across multiple teams to ensure alignment.
  • 3+ years of practical experience and business knowledge in capital markets and market risk.
  • At least 3 years of working knowledge of SQL Server, with query development skills.
  • Experience with all SDLC phases.
  • Proficiency with Unix tools, shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python), SQL, PL/SQL, and SQL Loader or similar.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business administration, computer science, or related field.
