Position Overview
Reporting to the IT Manager – Technical and Client Services, the Technical Analyst is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, support, and maintenance of related systems hardware, software, and infrastructure. This includes the administration and support of specific systems, environments, and infrastructure, as well as supporting departmental and organizational projects with their IT infrastructure and technology needs.
The Technical Analyst will work closely with application, business, and departmental leads to ensure that systems and IT infrastructure are reliable, secure, compliant with best practices and regulatory requirements, and optimized for performance.
Primary Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure and Systems Management
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on experience in deploying, administering, and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure and systems.
- Ensure system high availability, optimal performance, and scalability to meet business requirements through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning. Seek efficiencies and improvements in systems and processes.
- Implement and manage security measures to safeguard systems, including user account management, permissions, system patches, updates, and security configurations. Collaborate with security teams for vulnerability assessments and remediation.
- Support development, implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and testing of disaster recovery plans and backup & recovery solutions, ensuring recovery objectives are met.
- Implement and support system and infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and improvements aligned with organizational needs.
- Follow and maintain IT best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements (including PHIPA, PIPEDA), ensuring consistency across all IT systems, processes, and documentation.

Technical Leadership and Collaboration
- Serve as the escalation point for support issues and provide technical leadership in day-to-day operations and project tasks, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, external partners, user groups, and vendors.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, change logs, and SOPs, and assist in policy development.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to their technical growth.
Strategic Planning and IT Standards
- Assist in developing and executing strategic plans and contribute to long-term roadmaps for technology adoption and infrastructure upgrades.
- Follow ITIL best practices to enhance IT service management processes.
IT Asset Lifecycle, Vendor, and Contract Management
- Support vendor contract reviews and IT procurement processes.
- Manage IT assets from acquisition to decommissioning, ensuring compliance with licensing and security standards.
Metrics and Reporting
- Help create and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and performance reports to identify improvement areas.
Decision Making
- Support strategic and operational decisions related to IT infrastructure and cybersecurity, aligning with business priorities.
Other Responsibilities
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Provide onsite support to remote offices as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by IT leadership.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or related certificate in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- ITIL certification preferred.
Experience
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience as a technical analyst or system administrator.
- Proficiency with Active Directory/Azure AD, IAM, PAM, OS, server hardware, virtualization, enterprise storage, and backup solutions.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring, automation, SOP development, and security controls.
- Experience collaborating with cybersecurity teams.
- Must have a good work and attendance record.
