Job summary

Sardine is seeking a People Business Partner - Tech to support our Engineering and Product teams. You will partner with leaders to build strong teams, design organizational structures, and align talent with priorities in a remote-first setup.

You will help drive performance cycles, establish clear career paths and leveling, and ensure compliance across regions, while fostering a culture of empathy, growth, and trust.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in People roles, incl. 4+ years as People Business Partner.
• Experience supporting Engineering and Product leaders in scale-up SaaS.
• Understanding of how technical teams operate, incl. leveling.
• Familiarity with international employment laws and compliance.
• Experience with globally distributed teams across cultures/time zones.
• Hands-on work across org design, performance, employee relations, and compensation.
• Ability to translate business priorities into practical People solutions.

Responsibilities

• Be a trusted thought partner to Engineering and Product leaders and managers.
• Lead organizational design to scale teams, clarify roles, align talent.
• Identify talent gaps and plan for future team needs.
• Ensure People practices remain compliant across regions.
• Own performance management cycles end to end.
• Support clear career paths and leveling for Eng/Prod roles.
• Use People data to guide decisions on team effectiveness and retention.
• Be an empathetic point of contact for employee relations matters.
• Coach managers through performance concerns and conflicts.
• Own learning and development initiatives for Eng/Prod teams.
