Job summary

BlueCat Networks is seeking a Technical Manager to lead the DNS Resolver team responsible for a core product in the Horizon Platform. You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and ensure high performance and reliability across cloud services.

You will stay hands-on with architecture and implementation while nurturing engineer growth and cross‑team collaboration in a flexible, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development, ideally in systems, networking, or performance‑sensitive software.
• Experience managing software developers or leading teams.
• Strong architecture, design, code review, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Expertise with Rust, Java, or Go; Rust preferred.
• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs and backend services.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/S and general networking fundamentals.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent written and verbal communication for collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Resolver engineering team and collaborate with Product Management, Release Management, and other engineers to plan and deliver capabilities.
• Mentor engineers, manage performance, and remove roadblocks for the team.
• Participate in architecture discussions, review approaches, and contribute to the codebase as needed.
• Guide the evolution of Resolver’s cloud management services and migration to the Horizon platform.
• Maintain focus on software quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Coordinate across teams to balance new functionality with technical debt and reliability.
