Job description

Schedule “A” - Key Performance Areas

● Follow warehouse standard operating procedures (SOPs) and checklists, including receiving, safe food handling, cold chain management, food sortation, waste management, warehouse cleaning, pest control, and order picking.

○ Properly use inventory systems to track all shipping and receiving activities.

○ Weigh, receive, and inspect all inbound goods.

○ Weigh outgoing orders and incoming product donations and purchases, ensuring accurate entry into the inventory system.

○ Prepare agency orders in advance of shipping/pick-up deadlines, ensuring proper storage until shipment.

○ Handle and store incoming products according to Health Canada’s food safety regulations, including disposal or quarantine if necessary.

○ Collaborate with drivers to load and unload trucks.

○ Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, following safety procedures.

○ Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and report malfunctions.

○ Greet and assist food donors dropping off donations.

○ Maintain cleanliness and safety in all warehouse areas, returning equipment to proper storage and recharging stations daily.

○ Report unsafe conditions, practices, or equipment to the Warehouse Supervisor.

○ Perform additional duties as assigned.

Team Lead Duties:

• Lead Warehouse Operators to ensure proper handling of food from receipt to shipment, including adherence to SOPs and Canadian Food Inspection Agency notifications.
• Direct and supervise Warehouse Operators, aligning their work with organizational goals.
• Foster a positive team environment through mentoring and maintaining team cohesion.
• Identify opportunities to improve warehouse operations and efficiency.
• Serve as the primary contact during the supervisor’s absence.
