Job summary

TVH CANADA LTD. seeks an experienced Warehouse Team Lead to coordinate and supervise all distribution activities, ensuring alignment with service and cost objectives. The role focuses on inventory control, audits, and department collaboration to forecast needs and plan shipments.

You will train and mentor staff on safety and procedures, optimize layout for space and efficiency, and generate regular inventory reports for management review. On-site role in Mississauga, Canada.

Qualifications

  • Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before internal/external customers.
  • Mathematical skills including proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to define and solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the warehouse inventory team to ensure efficient operations.
  • Oversee inventory management processes including receiving, storing, and tracking stock.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Coordinate with other departments to forecast inventory needs and plan accordingly.
  • Train and mentor team members on inventory procedures, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and address discrepancies.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and storage systems to maximize space utilization.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory.
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, cycle counts, stock movements, and discrepancies for management review.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to inventory management.
  • Handle escalated issues and provide guidance to resolve inventory-related challenges.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork among warehouse staff.
  • Assist the Lead Hand and DC Assistant Manager with general operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support warehouse operations and achieve organizational goals.

Ability to use scales in order to determine inventory counts. Knowledge of optimal warehouse space utilization.Physical DemandsTypical duties performed at company facility during regular day including handling products and serving walk-in customers.Ability to be on feet and mobile most of the day required.Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.Working Conditions & EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.The employee is occasionally required to work in high, precarious places.Most activities will be performed in a warehouse environment with seasonal climate.The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loudThere will be times when working before or after regular scheduled shifts may occur to meet the demands of the business needs
