Job summary

HEABC, the Health Employers Association of British Columbia, seeks a Team Lead, Nurse Navigation to provide leadership over Nurse Recruitment Services. Reporting to the Manager, Nurse Recruitment Services, you will oversee program operations, partner engagement, and quality initiatives while fostering a high-performance and inclusive team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ recent related experience, including supervising, leading, coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and other database software, including pivot tables, graphing, formulas, creating dashboards and reports, experience working with large data sets.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and proven ability to be sensitive to context.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute projects with stringent timelines.
  • Ability to handle vast demands and rapid change.
  • Ability to organize workload, understand and apply relevant Acts and Regulations, deal with conflict, assess and establish priorities, and take action.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with key internal and external partners including the Ministry of Health, health authority representatives, regulatory bodies, educational institutions, professional associations, federal agencies, community representatives, nurse candidates and other recruitment bodies.
  • Provides direct supervision and support to designated staff, including task prioritization, performance feedback, evaluations, and participation in recruitment, development, and, where necessary, disciplinary actions. Fosters a positive, trust-based team culture.
  • Oversees day-to-day program operations and the implementation of annual workplans, ensuring effective coordination of activities, balanced workloads, and adequate staffing coverage, while contributing to continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
  • Leads assigned projects, contributing to project planning, partner engagement, and implementation.
  • Provides expert guidance regarding program policies and procedures, leveraging specialized knowledge of health sector recruitment. Collaborate with the Manager to create and revise policies and advises internal teams and external partners to support consistent, informed decision-making.

HEABC leads and supports the strategic planning related to human resources and labour relations on behalf of British Columbia’s publicly funded health employers. Opportunity

HEABC has an opportunity for a Team Lead, Nurse Navigation (the Team Lead). Reporting to the Manager, Nurse Recruitment Services, the Team Lead, HMBC (the Team Lead), provides leadership and oversight of program operations, partner engagement, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. The Team Lead supervises assigned staff and fosters a high-performance, inclusive, and safe work environment. The Team Lead builds collaborative relationships with health system partners, manages daily operations and program risks, supports recruitment and retention efforts at the provincial level. They contribute to overall program effectiveness through strategic planning, project leadership, and service excellence.

Salary Range: $76,111 to $99,895

Typical Hiring Range: $76,111 to $95,138

In determining salary, HEABC considers many factors including the successful candidate’s skillset and experience as well as internal equity. The final salary offer will be at HEABC’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
