What is the Role?

In a leadership position with the Building Envelope team in Toronto, you will fulfill several key roles at Entuitive. You will be a team player who internally and externally socializes what it means to be Entuitive and who positively contributes to the betterment of the firm.

Focusing on existing building envelope investigation and restoration, you will utilize your experience and industry knowledge to raise market awareness of Entuitive. In doing so, you will secure proposal and project opportunities with your past clients and contacts, as well as forge new client relationships to secure work for the group.

As a Subject Matter Expert in building science, methods and practices by keeping current with emerging trends and market shifts, you will recommend and implement best practices and client-centric solutions.

You will oversee and manage a team of building envelope specialists on a project level and day-to-day basis, in partnership with our existing Toronto leader, by taking a hands-on approach and by providing guidance and mentorship to the team to ensure a high level of project delivery and service.

You will actively promote Entuitive services across all networks within the industry and communities in which we work. You will conduct yourself, and ensure all work is carried out in full support of our Vision, Mission, Values and One Company culture.

What will you do?

  • Leadership in the implementation of planned initiatives that support Entuitive and Building Envelope’s strategic direction which may include technical, project management, business development, or a variety of other Company wide opportunities.
  • You will build off Entuitive’s current existing building experience and expand our capabilities and project bandwidth. This includes focusing on clients in the commercial, municipal, education, transportation, and healthcare sectors.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to teams ensuring to foster a collaborative environment where knowledge is shared, and creative solutions are supported.
  • Responsible for developing staff through technical mentorship and providing ongoing feedback along with conducting the annual review process to grow the future leaders of the firm.
  • Participate in corporate leadership by contributing to the sector/service strategy and internal committees (Technical, BD + Marketing, Production Management, QC, etc.)

Business Development & Client Relations

  • Actively leverage existing client relationships, and develop new client relationships, to grow the

building envelope project portfolio, particularly as it relates to existing building restoration.

  • Actively coordinate with other individuals and groups in Entuitive for marketing and business

development efforts, cross selling between disciplines, work-sharing, sharing of expertise, development of technical standards, etc.

  • Provide creative and technical input into proposal development working closely with the marketing team to clearly demonstrate Entuitive’s capabilities.
  • Focuses on maintaining existing client relations by ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner and services offered exceeds our clients’ expectations in terms of quality.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships and collaborative arrangements within the building owners, property managers, and operators, as well as Architectural/Engineering/Construction community and other organizations to help achieve the goals of Entuitive.
  • Participate in industry related committees, events, programs, and presentations at conferences in order to increase Entuitive’s profile within the industry. Prepare and execute presentations at applicable events and trade shows.

Technical Delivery

  • Provide technical expertise to other staff ensuring a high level of deliverables by conducting technical reviews and instilling adherence to QA through established guidelines and best practices.
  • Engage and implement Quality Control measures and activities supporting a continuous improvement mind set and a commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Investigate and promote the use of advanced methods, techniques, technology or processes within project teams and throughout the firm.
  • Deliver preliminary and detailed designs, as required and oversee mark ups and the coordination of design packages complying with relevant codes and standards.
  • Responsible for signing and sealing deliverables as needed ensuring a high level of professional integrity and a commitment to high quality standards.
  • Knowledge and interest in building performance, thermal bridging, embodied carbon and climate resiliency and adaptation are considered an asset

Project Management

  • Oversight of a large portfolio of projects, while providing guidance and mentorship to Project Principals within the Building Envelope team.
  • Responsible for effective project management including managing project budgets using the appropriate cost control methods and ensuring scheduling and resourcing plans meet the needs of project deliverables.
  • Responsible for client correspondence and communication including fee letters and status reports, ensuring the client and stakeholders are kept abreast of issues and resolutions are timely and well managed.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 10+ years of building envelope restoration consulting experience
  • 10+ years’ relevant consulting experience in the Toronto market
  • Business development experience and/or acumen
  • P.Eng. strongly preferred
