North Bay Regional Health Centre's Central Ambulance Communications Centre is seeking qualified applicants for the role of Ambulance Communications Officer. This position supports 24/7 emergency medical dispatch for Nipissing, Parry Sound, and Temiskaming, coordinating radio and telephone systems and advancing patient care.

Candidates must meet rigorous certifications, including CPR and first aid, complete the Ministry of Health Ambulance Communications Course, and be fluent in English with

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must hold an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma (OSSGD) or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English language fluently.
• Be a holder of a valid standard first aid certificate issued by a training institute approved by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board
• Be a holder of a valid CPR certificate to the level as may be required by the province, and be re-certified in CPR every twenty-four (24) months thereafter
• Successful completion of a Ministry of Health approved Ambulance Communications Course (Entry to Practice Training); required
• Ministry of Health, Ambulance Communications Officer Certificate (valid within past 2 years) required
• Ambulance Communications Officer (ACO) or CACC Team Leader experience required
• Demonstrated computer keyboarding proficiency (40 wpm/90% accuracy) required
• Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
