Job summary

Select Finishing Ltd in Ontario is seeking a Production team member to work in our 7-employee shift team on the 6:30am–3pm Mon-Fri schedule. You will sand carbon fiber parts, mask surfaces, inspect for defects, and prepare parts for painting with proper PPE and safety adherence.

Responsibilities

• Sand raw carbon fiber parts using a dual-action sander or by hand, ensuring accuracy.
• Mask parts with painter's tape and masking paper for proper coverage and adhesion.
• Inspect parts for defects and repair with body filler to maintain quality.
• Check edges and apply filler to achieve uniformity and correct alignment.
• Mix body filler with hardener accurately for consistent curing.
• Use waterborne and solvent-based cleaners as needed.
• Inspect preparation and masking stages before painting.

Duties

• Sand raw carbon fiber parts using a dual-action sander or by hand, maintaining accuracy to avoid burning the weave or distorting body lines.
• Mask parts using automotive painter's tape and masking paper, ensuring standards are met for coverage and adhesion.
• Inspect parts for defects such as pinholes or porosity; repair defects using body filler to maintain part quality.
• Check and refine edges to ensure uniformity, applying body filler when necessary for correction.
• Accurately mix body filler with hardener in correct ratios to ensure consistent application and curing.
• Utilize both waterborne and solvent-based cleaners as necessary.
• Conduct thorough inspections pre- and post-sanding to confirm uniformity and adherence to preparation standards.
• Review all parts before and after masking to confirm readiness for painting.
• Consistently use appropriate PPE for all sanding and preparation tasks.
• Follow established health and safety protocols in handling tools, chemicals, and sanding equipment.
• Other duties as assigned
