Salary: $28.24 - $29.13 per hour (Start rate non-negotiable)
Shifts: Nights, Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
Status: Permanent Full Time

Position Summary

The Team Aide participates in direct and indirect patient care activities to carry out the multidisciplinary care plan. The scope of activities is directed and assigned by the RN or RPN to support the provision of excellent patient care.

Duties

  • Performing basic patient care functions contributing to the implementation of the multidisciplinary care plan
  • Assisting with patient nutritional needs and contributing to patient information collection/documentation
  • Practicing infection control and safety measures to maintain high standards of patient care and safety
  • Ensuring a clean and safe environment for patient care and treatment
  • Supporting patient assessment and performing transportation functions
  • Performing departmental duties while strictly adhering to confidentiality policies
  • Monitoring and replenishing inventory of medical and other supplies to ensure adequate stocks
  • Transporting patients, equipment, and supplies in a timely manner
  • Cleaning and disinfecting equipment, supplies, and rooms to maintain infection and safety controls

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English
  • Demonstrated independence, positive attitude, and effective teamwork skills
  • Ability to facilitate unit functioning and patient care flow
  • Ability to maintain productivity and efficiency
  • Courteous and professional conduct in performing duties
  • Good judgment, initiative, and multi-tasking abilities
  • Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Client service orientation and appreciation for diversity
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (including over 40 kg), and perform related tasks without discomfort
  • Availability to work in multiple areas and rotating shifts, including emergencies
