Job summary

Southpointe Academy in Delta, BC is seeking a dedicated Teacher On-Call (TOC) to support students across Kindergarten to Grade 12. TOCs provide well-prepared lessons, maintain classroom management, and ensure continuity when regular teachers are absent.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor of Education or equivalent and a BC Ministry of Education qualification. This flexible, on-call role offers exposure to multiple subjects and grades, with competitive daily pay of $350 per full day worked.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education or Equivalent is required.
• BC Ministry of Education: Certificate of Qualification or Independent School Teaching Certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver well-prepared lessons and provide effective classroom management while adhering to the school's curriculum and guidelines.
• Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and active participation among students.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment, promoting positive behaviour and reinforcing the school's values.
• Assist students with activities, provide clarifications, and offer additional guidance to help students demonstrate their learning.
• Collaborate with other teachers when necessary to ensure a cohesive learning experience. Communicate effectively with the regular classroom teacher, and/or leadership team, providing feedback on the day's activities.
• Be adaptable to teaching various grade levels from Kindergarten to Grade 12, including teaching a range of subject areas such as Physical Education, Music, STEM, Art and French.
• Be familiar with the school's safety protocols and emergency procedures to ensure the well-being of students.

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Teacher On-Call (TOC) to join our dynamic team of educators at Southpointe Academy. Our TOC's play a critical role in supporting our school's mission to provide a nurturing and engaging learning environment for students. TOC's step in as a substitute teacher on an as-needed basis, ensuring continuity in the educational process during the absence of our regular teaching staff. Key Responsibilities:
