Job summary

Canadian Natural is seeking a Tax Analyst Student in Calgary, AB. You will work with experienced professionals on corporate and partnership tax work, learning to prepare returns and tax credit claims while applying your accounting studies.

You will gain hands-on experience with internal accounting systems, research, and reporting, with mentors guiding your development toward a future in accounting.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate degree program in Accounting, Finance or Business.
• Familiarity with accounting concepts and principles.
• Familiarity with research strategies and analytical thinking.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic taxation concepts and the Canadian taxation system.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file basic corporate and partnership tax returns.
• Assist in the preparation of complex corporate and partnership tax returns.
• Assist in the preparation of Scientific Research and Experimental Development tax credit claims.
• Assist in the completion of sales tax returns.
• Assist in the completion of trust returns.
• Learn to access information and run reports using internal accounting systems.
• Develop a basic understanding of corporate tax compliance and planning.

• Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office
• Shift schedule:5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours/day (Monday – Friday)
• Multiple term starts and lengths:
  • January 2027 – 8 months
  • May 2027 – 4 months
