Job summary

Canadian Natural Resources Limited is seeking a Tax Analyst Student in Calgary. You will collaborate with experienced professionals to prepare and file tax returns and assist with tax credit claims while applying classroom knowledge to real projects.

The role develops accounting and tax skills through mentorship, with a focus on learning, accuracy, and compliance. Terms include January 2027 and May 2027 starts, with a supportive, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
• Familiarity with accounting concepts and research strategies.
• Basic taxation concepts and the Canadian taxation system; proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file basic corporate and partnership tax returns.
• Assist in preparing complex corporate and partnership tax returns.
• Assist in GST/HST returns and other tax compliance tasks.
• Learn to access information and run reports using internal accounting systems.
• Develop a basic understanding of corporate tax planning.

• Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office


• Shift schedule:5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours/day (Monday – Friday)

Key Accountabilities:

• Prepare and file basic corporate and partnership tax returns


• Assist in the preparation of complex corporate and partnership tax returns


• Assist in the preparation of Scientific Research and Experimental Development tax credit claims


• Assist in the completion of sales tax returns


• Assist in the completion of trust returns


• Learn to access information and run reports using internal accounting systems


• Develop a basic understanding of corporate tax compliance and planning

What You Bring to the Role:
