Job summary

The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) is hiring a temporary International Language Instructor (Tamil) to deliver small-group instruction in ESL/LBS/LINC settings. The instructor will report to the Regional Manager of Literacy and Language Services and collaborate with a team to meet Ministry and Board requirements.

Qualifications

• Possess a three year university degree or three year college diploma with a concentration in education, social work, sociology, psychology, linguistics or applied languages or in a related field.
• Familiarity with community support agencies pertaining to adult, family or employment-related issues is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Regional, Manager of Literacy and Language Services, the Instructor provides instruction to small groups of learners with a specific program focus (i.e. ESL, LBS, LINC) in accordance with respective and established assessment standards.
• The instructor consults with the Manager or Team Leader to deliver program assignments and works collaboratively within a team environment to ensure that appropriate programming is delivered accordingly to applicable and designated Ministry and Board requirements.
