Job Description

We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Ottawa team for a 1-year term. Reporting to the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Systems, you will partner with hiring managers to understand success criteria for each role. You will manage the recruitment lifecycle from posting to offer, and play a key role in employer branding through candidate engagement, including external career fairs and events.

This position is a 1-year full-time role with benefits and a hybrid work schedule. We are team-oriented, support each other, and encourage project work and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your day to day:
  1. Collaborate with hiring managers to understand role requirements.
  2. Conduct candidate calls and pre-screen applicants.
  3. Identify and engage potential candidates using various sourcing techniques.
  4. Support interviews, job postings, and administrative tasks.
  5. Organize external recruitment events.
  6. Build and maintain talent pools and candidate relationships.
  7. Share market insights to inform recruitment strategies.
  8. Respond to candidate inquiries and foster external networks.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field.
  2. 2+ years in recruiting, preferably in sourcing or technical recruitment.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Excellent research and analytical abilities.
  5. Proficiency with sourcing tools and ATS.
  6. Knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
  7. Ability to build relationships with candidates and stakeholders.
  8. Proactive, results-oriented approach.
  9. Familiarity with sourcing techniques and HR systems.
  10. Ability to present roles and the company effectively to candidates.
Security

All employees must be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and security assessed. Applicants need to meet security requirements, including obtaining and maintaining a Canadian government security clearance. Eligibility to work in Canada is required.
