We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialistto join our Ottawa team for a 1 year term position.Reporting into the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Systems, you will partner closely with hiring managers to understand exactly what success looks like for each role. You will manage the recruitment life cycle from posting, interviewing to offer stage. Our recruitment team plays a key role in driving branding through candidate engagement, which includes participating in the planning and execution of external career fairs and events.
This position is a 1-year term with full time hours, includes benefits and a flexible work schedule that is hybrid. We are very team oriented and help each other to reach our goals! You will also have the opportunity to work on projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Your day to day:
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand specific needs and requirements for open positions.
- Conduct candidate introduction calls and pre-screening of applicants to pre-qualify for roles.
- Identify and engage candidates by researching, identifying, and engaging both active and non-active potential candidates that match the criteria.
- Utilize various sourcing techniques including strategies like Boolean search, LinkedIn, social media, job boards, and campaign/events to attract talent.
- Support with interviews as needed depending on volumes
- Support with job postings and other administration
- Support and organize external events
- Generate interest in our opportunities, build and maintain our CRM
- Build and maintain talent pipelines by creating and managing a pool of potential candidates for current and future staffing needs.
- Provide insights and recommendations by sharing market trends, competitor analysis, and other relevant data to inform recruitment strategies
- Answer candidate inquires and build relationships with external networks
- Bachelor degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field
- 2+ years of experience in recruiting, ideally in a talent sourcer role or technical recruiter
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent research and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in using online sourcing tools and ATS.
- Knowledge of talent market trends and industry best practices.
- Ability to build strong relationships with candidates and internal stakeholders.
- A proactive and results-oriented approach to talent acquisition.
- Demonstrate affinity with candidate sourcing and recruitment techniques
- Familiarity with sourcing tools, HR systems (including an ATS)
- Ability to effectively present both roles and our company to candidates
