Responsibilities
- Manufacture, modify, or repair sheet metal structures using all types of sheet metal fabricating equipment. Lay out and develop parts of irregular shape and curvature, and tooling. Assist in modifications and repairs.
- Responsible for structural installation, assembly, and subassemblies of aircraft systems, parts, and components for assigned projects and station areas.
- Use technical data and instructions provided by the client or aircraft manufacturer.
- Utilize templates and position components from PVA, Engineering Service drawings, or other materials provided by the Methods Department.
- Read and interpret plans or manufacturing files.
- Adapt work to various types of assembly, including large and small components.
- Adjust and operate manual or automated machines and tools according to the work requirements.
- Assemble metal and/or composite parts according to technical specifications:
- Install fasteners, drill holes, and ensure the correct products are used for assembly (bolts, rivets, screws, accessories).
- Use appropriate sealants, bonding agents, and corrosion protection products.
- Ensure assemblies conform to manufacturing files.
- Inspect installed units, parts, and equipment to verify fit, performance, and compliance with technical standards.
- Maintain quality standards and production rates.
- Follow health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Report discrepancies or irregularities.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an assembler in the aeronautics field.
- Vocational diploma in aeronautical structure assembly or equivalent.
- Excellent ability to read drawings.
- Quick learner with strong attention to detail.
Required Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
