Job summary

Westbank First Nation is seeking a Human Resources Advisor/Recruitment to lead staffing and recruitment, overseeing policies, and ensuring legal obligations are met while enabling the best talent to join the organization.

Reporting to the HR Manager, this role coordinates full‑cycle recruitment, onboarding, job postings, interviews, background checks, and recruitment metrics, with a focus on Indigenous communities and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Degree or Post-Secondary education in Human Resources or related field required.
• CPHR designation is considered an asset or working towards.
• 2 years of staffing and recruitment experience, preferably in a government.
• Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter or other online recruitment tools is required.
• Experience working with Indigenous communities/people considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for staffing and recruiting processes
• Coordinates the full-cycle recruitment and onboarding including; posting, interviews, references, Employment Agreements.
• Refer Managers to HR Advisor to ensure job requirements are accurate
• Ensures new hires provide necessary documentation and agreements
• Maintains HR Recruitment Metrics and Stats and reports on recruitment statistics
• Collaborates with hiring Managers to source, screen, and shortlist candidates
• Coordinate and participate in interview scheduling and committee coordination
• Maintain and update the HR Recruitment Manual & Internal HR Checklist
• Assist with recruitment and retention strategies
• Respond to recruitment inquiries from employees, applicants and communities
• Perform duties in accordance with WFN policies and confidentiality
