Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Tactical Security Guard in Surrey, British Columbia. The role provides hands-on experience in a federal‑style security environment with emphasis on professionalism, tactical awareness, and decision making.

You will gain experience in incident response, access control, emergency procedures, and report writing while working alongside federal operations. This is a full‑time position with growth opportunities and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Security Guard License.
• High school diploma or Canadian equivalent.
• Able to pass Public Works Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check.
• At least 1 year of experience in a security role.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the protection of individuals, property, and assets within the facility.
• Escort individuals within the premises as necessary to maintain safety and security.
• Demonstrate empathy and compassion while working with individuals under stress.
• Observe and monitor behaviour and report concerns.
• Conduct regular foot patrols – both indoors and outdoors.
• Utilize security software and equipment effectively.
• Conduct frequent wellness checks.
• Generate accurate incident and daily reports.
• Respond swiftly to emergency situations using tactical de‑escalation techniques.

• Valid First Aid Level 1 (OFA1) - an asset
• Advanced Security Training (AST) – an asset
• Must have resided in Canada for the past 5 years
• High school diploma or Canadian equivalent (proof of education required).
• Able to pass Public Works Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check
• At least 1 year of experience in a security role
• Demonstrated ability to act decisively in high‑pressure situations
• Strong communication and customer service skills
