Job summary

Blackbird Security in Coquitlam, BC is seeking Tactical Security Guards to help protect communities and deter theft in a retail environment. The role emphasizes customer service, vigilance, and quick response to incidents.

You will patrol stores, monitor cameras, confront suspected theft, escort violators, file incident reports, and coordinate with law enforcement when needed. A valid BC security license and prior retail security experience are required; flexible schedules and growth

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Previous security or loss prevention experience preferred.
• Willingness to participate in trainings and stay updated on procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prevent theft and provide customer service in a retail environment.

What You Will Do

• Prevent shoplifter theft in a retail environment while providing customer service to clients, patrons and customers.
• Patrol store aisles, monitor customers, and watch security camera footage.
• Confront individuals you suspect of theft, who have unpaid merchandise.
• Escort trespassers out of the client premises.
• Perform arrests, detainments, and recover unpaid merchandise
• Complete required documentation for security incidents such as theft and violations.
• Escalate situation to law enforcement as required.
• Respond to emergency situations appropriately in a timely manner.

The Ideal Candidate

• A Valid British Columbia Security License is required
• Previous security experience in a retail environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, is required
• Willingness to attend meetings and improve skills
• Ability to work without close supervision
• A keen interest in asset protection and crime prevention
