Job description

Global Financial Firm located in Mississauga, ON, has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Tableau Developer.

This role is currently on a Hybrid Schedule.

You will need reliable internet, a computer, and an Android or iPhone for remote access into the client systems during remote work.

We expect in-office presence on weekly days depending on team requirements.

Video/ff interviews are required prior to all offers.

Job Purpose:

This role is part of the Finance Markets & Credit Risk Technology team. Our goal is to foster a strong culture of engineering and delivery, prioritizing the business while achieving complex goals of consistency, performance, efficiency, and transparency, essential for a bank of Client's size.

The XiP Solutions team is responsible for delivering cross-asset risk solutions using XiP (Xing Platform), a standardized high-performance risk engine with standardized inputs and outputs. XiP is used in various centralized use cases within Client, such as Front Office risk calculation, Enterprise Risk metrics calculation, and Enterprise Finance reporting. This role offers a unique engineering opportunity to work on top-tier software solutions for Front and Back Office systems using the latest COTS and cloud-enabled technologies.

The team seeks a Development Specialist with a proven track record in creating complex enterprise BI reporting solutions using Tableau. The candidate will be heavily involved in designing and implementing reporting dashboards for risk calculation inputs and computed risk assessments. The ideal candidate will be a responsible, resourceful software professional capable of working in a large, globally distributed, dynamic team environment, with strong teamwork and collaboration skills. The ability to work under high pressure is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement BI solutions and dashboards as defined by reporting leads.
  • Manage client expectations by delivering solutions that solve complex business problems for risk users, including Sales and Trading, Risk Management, Finance, Capital Optimization, and Regulatory reporting teams.
  • Ensure solutions comply with architectural and data modeling standards.
  • Follow industry-standard SDLC best practices for code management.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps, and support staff to deliver robust solutions.
  • Assess risks when making technical and business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies, and escalating issues as needed.

Skills:

Extensive practical experience with the following technologies:

  • Tableau development, including instance administration
  • Data source connectors, Prep flows, Interactive dashboards
  • SDLC / DevOps tools like Git, BitBucket, Jenkins, JIRA, and secure coding tools

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Proven experience building scalable, maintainable applications, ideally with + years in application development.
  • Hands-on Tableau development and administration experience.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Familiarity with Tableau cluster & object migration (preferred).
  • Experience in financial services or banking (preferred).

Educational / Certification Background:

  • Graduate in STEM disciplines.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
