Apex Systems is a Global IT Services Firm and our Staffing practice is looking for a Tableau Developer with strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills to place at our client, a Big Five Bank. In order to be successful in this role you will need to be well versed in Tableau, Excel, Power BI, SSIS, and SQL. You will be joining a highly collaborative, fast paced and high performing team.

Contract: You will start Mid to Late Feb 2025. Extension is likely based on performance.

Working Location: Remote out of Greater Toronto Area.

Working Hours: Business hours, 37.5hrs/week, Monday-Friday

Dress Code: Business Casual

Ultimately, you will help automate/improve our business intelligence/data processes to help us make better decisions.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs to technical specifications
• Evaluate and improve existing BI systems/data analysis
• Automate as there is currently significant manual process
• Help transition manual processes from Excel to SQL using Tableau/SSIS
• Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
• Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
• Develop and update technical documentation

Requirements

• 4+ years proven experience as a Tableau Developer
• Used both Tableau Prep (data preparation) and Desktop (for report development)
• Significant professional experience ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework – SSIS
• Expert level of SQL queries and Excel (Pivot Tables, V Look Ups, Macros)
• Experience migrating data from Excel to SQL Server using SSIS/Tableau
• Hands on professional experience with Microsoft Power BI – Strong Nice To have
• Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
• Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Data and Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics

Interview Process:

2 Rounds with client. First with hiring manager, second with hiring manager and team.
