Job summary

SYSTRA Canada is seeking an experienced Systems Engineering Manager / Lead to support the delivery of a major Light Rail Transit (LRT) project. This role leads day-to-day systems engineering activities across the project scope, ensuring requirements, interfaces, integration, verification, validation, and configuration processes are effectively planned and controlled throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario or equivalent is required.
• 15+ years of systems engineering experience on rail or complex infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on experience with requirements management and interface/control documents.
• Experience with standards such as CENELEC EN 5012x, IEEE 15288 for rail systems.
• Proficiency with DOORS or equivalent tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day systems engineering activities for the SRS scope.
• Lead requirements capture, analysis, allocation, traceability, and change control for SRS systems.
• Maintain requirements compliance and traceability from design through verification and handover.
• Coordinate interface management across disciplines, contractors, stakeholders, and external parties.
• Develop, maintain, and control interface control documents (ICDs) and interface registers.
• Identify, track, and resolve interface issues, risks, and action items.
• Plan and coordinate verification and validation activities for system and subsystem requirements.
• Ensure V&V evidence is collected, organized, and maintained for assurance and certification.
• Support integration management activities across systems and subsystems.
• Coordinate with design, testing, assurance, and delivery teams to manage integration risks.
• Support configuration management including baseline control and document control.
• Contribute to RAMS and hazard management and related documentation.
• Provide systems engineering input to hazard identification and mitigation tracking.
