Job summary

Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. seeks an Integrated Product Team Lead to guide a multi-disciplinary team through the total engineering life cycle—from specification to field troubleshooting—for the River Class Destroyer LBTF payload, the “Ship Combat System on Land.”

The role involves coordinating with government furnishers, vendors, and CPTs to ensure coherent plans across design, integration, and verification, while driving issue resolution and performance improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems/engineering or related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering and integration lifecycle.
  • Experience with Naval Combat Subsystems (CMS, Comms, IBNS, Sensors, Weapons).
  • Aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment.
  • Initiative and autonomy with high learning ability.
  • Ability to plan, adapt and perform in a dynamic schedule-driven environment.
  • Effective in virtual environments; strong organization, communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the technical soundness of the system requirements and design as they relate to the Payload Combat Systems.
  • Ensure the LBTF Payload Combat System aligns with requirements and design.
  • Interact with the Customer on Payload Systems aspects.
  • Assess technical, cost and schedule impacts of change requests.
  • Generate associated deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Subcontracts CPT and Payload System vendors for coherence of plans.
  • Coordinate with E3, Cyber Security, Safety, Training and ILS CPTs to ensure coherency of discipline plans.
  • Collaborate with other IPTs to ensure coherence of plans touching multiple IPTs.
  • Identify, assess, prioritize and resolve technical and non-technical issues.

The River Class Destroyer (RCD) Land-Based Test Facility (LBTF) program team is one of the Naval Programs teams that spans across Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin)'s main project sites (Kanata, Montreal, Dartmouth), opportunities are available at all sites for supporting RCD LTBF program activities.


The candidate will operate as an Integrated Product Team Lead and a member of the Systems Engineering multi-disciplined team environment working on the total engineering life cycle from specification, design, development, integration and test, deployment, maintenance and field trouble shooting for the RCD Combat Subsystems forming the “Tactical Payload” being installed in the LBTF, essentially providing the customer with a “Ship Combat System on Land”.


The multi-disciplined team environment includes working with several vendors, including Government Furnished Equipment OEMs, who are responsible for product design, development and delivery of their respective systems.


The candidate’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Ensuring the technical soundness of the system requirements and design as they relate to the Combat Systems part of the LBTF Payload

  • Ensuring the technical soundness of the LBTF Payload Combat System and its alignment with system requirements and design

  • Interaction with the Customer on any aspect related to the Payload Systems

  • Assessing technical, cost and schedule impacts of change requests that impact or potentially impact the Payload Systems

  • Responsible for the generation of associated deliverables

  • Collaborate with the Subcontracts CPT, and Payload System vendors to ensure the continuing coherency and integrity of plans related to the development, delivery, integration and verification at the LBTF

  • Coordinate with the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), Cyber Security, Safety, Training and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and other CPTs to ensure the continuing coherency and integrity of plans related to each Specialty disciplines for the Payload Combat Systems

  • Collaborate with the other IPTs to ensure the coherency and integrity of plans that touch multiple IPTs

  • Identifying, assessing, prioritizing and resolving technical and non-technical issues associated with the Payload Combat Systems


Basic Qualifications

Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in systems, software, hardware, mechanical, electrical, electronics engineering or a related Discipline


Minimum Of 10 Years Of Relevant Professional Experience

Equivalent experience/combined education will be considered



  • Experience with Systems engineering and integration lifecycle

  • Experience with Naval Combat Subsystems (ex: CMS, Comms, IBNS, Sensors, Weapons, etc)

  • Aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment

  • Have a high degree of initiative and autonomy

  • Have a high learning ability

  • Ability to plan, adapt and perform in a dynamic schedule-driven environment.

  • Highly effective working in a virtual environment when required

  • Good organizational, communication and leadership skills.


Desired Skills


  • Experience with Subsystem Vendor oversight

  • Experience with integration/Installation of Combat Systems within a land based facility.

  • Experience with Change Management, Requirements Management, Test and trials, Security, Safety

  • Familiarity with of Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)™ (IBM Rational)

  • Familiarity with Agile methods.

  • Experience with Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)/ Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
