Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Dartmouth, NS seeks an LBTF Senior Test Engineer to join the Integration Test & Evaluation team. You will lead I&T activities, develop and execute test plans, and coordinate with stakeholders on acceptance and documentation for the River Class Destroyer LBTF program.

You will manage test documentation, perform defect reporting, and drive MBT-based testing while aligning with contract requirements and schedules. Strong leadership and security clearance readiness are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a sub-team of I&T engineers and promote continuous improvement.
  • Support T&T program for LBTF including STW, HATs, SATs and OTE.
  • Responsible for post-install inspections and commissioning of equipment.
  • Develop and execute test documentation to verify software/systems.
  • Lead documentation of test results in the Test Management System.
  • Lead defect reporting and test report reviews with stakeholders.
  • Support planning and execution of acceptance activities.
  • Assist in developing CDRLs aligned with SOW.
  • Support TSN and TPTSN development.
  • Apply MBT methodology and ensure traceability.
  • Identify, mitigate, and communicate I&T risks and contingencies.
  • Represent I&T in program meetings and required technical presentations.

Job description

Standard Job Description Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems. Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance. Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems.

The Successful Candidate Will Contribute To The River Class Destroyer (RCD) Land Based Test Facility (LBTF) Project As An LBTF Senior Test Engineer, a Member Of The Integration Test And Evaluation (IT&E) Team Conducting The Following Activities

  • Lead a sub-team of Integration & Test (I&T) Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
  • Support the development, review and implementation of Test and Trials (T&T) program for LBTF including; Set-To-Work (STW), Integration Testing, Harbour Acceptance Trials (HATs), Sea Acceptance Trials (SATs), and Operational Test & Evaluation
  • Responsible for post installation inspections and commissioning of equipment
  • Support development and execution of test documentation to verify the functionality of the integrated software/systems
  • Lead the documentation of test results in the Test Management System (TMS)
  • Lead defect reporting and documentation
  • Lead Test Report reviews to include data collection analysis results and report findings as necessary to key stakeholders
  • Support planning and the execution of the Acceptance activities
  • Support the development of Contract Data Requirement Listings (CDRLs) and ensure alignment with contract Statement of Work (SOW)
  • Support the development and maintenance of Test Sequence Network (TSN) and Time Phased Test Sequence Network (TPTSN)
  • Implementation of Model Based Testing (MBT) methodology and traceability
  • Identify, mitigate, and communicate I&T risks, ensuring proactive risk management and contingency planning
  • Represent I&T in defined program meetings, stakeholder communications and required technical presentations
  • Participate in training activities and acquire knowledge of complex warfare systems
Basic Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant military/civilian technical experience.

Desired Skills
  • IT&E experience in a Naval program
  • Experience in Combat Management System 330 (CMS 330) operation is considered an asset
  • Integration and Test (I&T) experience including understanding of Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM)
  • Familiarity with IBM Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with Cameo
