Job summary

Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. is seeking motivated software/hardware systems engineers to join the Naval Programs team. The role involves technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and cost and risk analyses across the total system life cycle.

You will participate in MBSE-driven design, requirements allocation, and interface definition while collaborating with senior staff to deliver complex naval platform systems across Kanata, Montreal and Dartmouth sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in software, hardware, systems, mechanical, electrical or electronics engineering or related discipline with 0-2 years experience.
• Experience with SysML or other object-oriented design methodologies is desirable.
• Experience with Agile methods and V&V processes is advantageous.
• Familiarity with multiple ALM tools like Jira/Confluence/DOORS is beneficial.

The Naval Programs team is responsible for technical planning, design, construction, system integration, Verification and Validation (V&V), cost and risk, supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems. Involvement as part of the total system product development includes: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. The team ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. The Naval Programs team spans across Lockheed Martin's main project sites (Kanata, Montreal, Dartmouth), opportunities are available at all sites for supporting Naval Combat Systems Programs and Proposal Capture activities. The candidate will participate as a Systems Engineering member of the Naval Development team in a multi-disciplined team environment working on the total engineering life cycle from specification, design, development, integration and test, deployment, maintenance and field trouble shooting for large scale high complexity naval platform systems.

The candidate will participate in engineering activities including but not limited to:

• Collaborating on system design activities with senior systems engineering and other engineering staff, including supporting technical reviews
• Performing requirements analysis
• Performing trade studies
• Reviewing requirements, requirements allocation and trade studies
• Performing system modelling and design, including Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Defining and tracking of Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs)
• System architecture and design
• System integration planning
• Design documentation
• Following systems engineering processes and best practices.

Basic Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelors’ degree from an accredited university in software, hardware, systems, mechanical, electrical or electronics engineering or a related discipline with 0-2 years’ experience.

Desired Skills

• 0-2 years of relevant professional experience. Equivalent experience/combined education will be considered
• Experience with Software, Systems, Hardware or Maintenance engineering lifecycles
