Job summary

The College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario is seeking an experienced Systems Developer with expertise in Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Pages. This role supports day-to-day information systems operations, driving process improvements and automating workflows.

Reporting to the Manager, IT, you will design scalable solutions, monitor dashboards, and collaborate with teams to ensure data integrity and secure systems.

Qualifications

  • University degree or College diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Data Science or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with information systems administration and/or development, including Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform specifically Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Dataverse.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and enhance information systems to improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and monitor tracking systems, queries, reports and dashboards for various departments and practice areas.
  • Develop and execute reporting requests using information systems, Excel, SQL, and other available tools.
  • Evaluate existing systems, identify requirements, and recommend changes to improve business processes and system performance.
  • Develop system tools and processes using Power Platform and Microsoft Dynamics 365, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, workflow automation, and custom code as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to design scalable solutions, improve data visibility, and support reliable, secure systems.
  • Provide technical, procedural, statistical, and instructional support related to information systems.
  • Maintain data integrity and reporting quality through regular testing, accuracy checks, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Ensure data completeness, accuracy and consistency across information systems (Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Power Platforms) and perform data clean-up as necessary.
  • Prepare technical reports through collecting, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information and trends using Power Platform, Dynamics 365, etc.

The College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario is a regulatory organization that oversees the practice of occupational therapists in Ontario. Our job is to make sure the public receives safe, effective, ethical care from occupational therapists. We are a public resource.

We are Canada’s largest regulator of occupational therapists, overseeing nearly 7,500 occupational therapists registered in Ontario.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Systems Developer with expertise in Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Pages. You will be supporting the day-to-day operations of our information systems, driving process improvements, streamlining workflows, and maximizing the use of technology to support organizational goals and objectives.

This role reports to the Manager, IT and will be responsible for a range of duties including but not limited to those outlined below.

What You Will be Doing

What You Will Need
  • University degree or College diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Data Science or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with information systems administration and/or development, including Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
  • Experience with project management is an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform specifically Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Dataverse.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (administrating, designing and configuring solutions, customization, workflows, plugins, API integrations, and security).
  • Understanding of integrated systems and data-driven applications.
  • Experience with SQL including analysis of data and creation of queries.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (VBA, pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Access (queries, VBA, reports, macros, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, able to troubleshoot issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Experience in not-for-profit, healthcare, regulatory, or public sector industry is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a small team-based setting.
  • Experience working with external partners and/or vendors is an asset.
  • Good judgement, initiative, and discretion in dealing with sensitive issues.
  • Flexible and positive, able to work in an evolving environment.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
Compensation

Annual compensation for the position ranges from $80,924 to $121,386.
