Job description

As a key member of Granteks Engineering team, you will develop real-time automation solutions from the manufacturing plant floor to the enterprise level using various programming, configuration, and design tools:

1. PLC and PAC Programming
2. Operator Interface and HMI application design
3. SCADA design
4. Network design
5. Database design
6. Vision system design
7. Machine Safety system design
8. Servo motion control
9. Information Solution design
10. MES design
11. ERP connector development
12. High-level software solution design (involving C#, HTML5, .NET, SQL, VB, VBA, and more)

All junior team members will participate in our mentoring program, working directly alongside our Senior Engineer professionals.

Key skills and interests include: machine and process control, high-level programming, information solutions, database development, operational efficiency, mechatronics.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

1. Engineering and implementing real-time automation controls and information solutions
2. Conceptualizing during the project design phase
3. System programming, debugging, and testing
4. Creating documentation such as engineering notes, project proposals, design traceability, case studies, etc.
5. Commissioning solutions at client sites and identifying improvement opportunities
6. Developing methodologies and complex problem-solving skills
7. Learning new technologies
8. Mentoring colleagues
9. Engaging in challenging and enjoyable work

Technologies Used:

• PLC Platforms: Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Modicon, GE, etc.
• Network Systems: Ethernet, Routing and Switching, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profibus, DH, Remote I/O, Modbus, etc.
• Operating Systems: Microsoft (current and legacy NT), Unix, Linux, etc.
• Project Documentation: Microsoft Office

Qualifications:

• Completion or near completion of a degree in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
• Experience with listed technologies
• Basic French proficiency
• Meticulous, conscientious, analytical, focused, self-starter, quick learner
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle
• Willingness to travel up to 30%
