Job Summary

HR Service Jobs is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Systems Analyst – Application Process Design to evaluate business requirements, analyze existing application workflows, and design efficient, scalable, and user-friendly system processes. The successful candidate will serve as a bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams, application developers, and end users to ensure that business needs are translated into effective application solutions.

In this role, you will examine current business processes, identify system inefficiencies, document functional requirements, and recommend improvements that enhance application performance, operational efficiency, and user experience. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop process models, define application workflows, support system implementation, and ensure that proposed solutions align with organizational objectives.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical thinking, process-design capabilities, technical documentation skills, and the ability to communicate complex system requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to application modernization, business process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Requirements Analysis: Work closely with business stakeholders, department managers, product owners, and end users to understand operational challenges, business objectives, and application requirements.
  • Application Process Design: Analyze existing application workflows and design improved processes that support business needs, reduce manual work, and improve productivity.
  • Process Mapping: Develop workflow diagrams, process maps, use cases, data flow diagrams, and other documentation to illustrate application interactions and business processes.
  • Systems Analysis: Evaluate existing applications, integrations, databases, and system dependencies to identify gaps, performance issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Functional Requirements Documentation: Prepare business requirements documents, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process-design documentation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with developers, software engineers, quality assurance teams, project managers, and business users to ensure that application designs meet agreed requirements.
  • Solution Evaluation: Assess alternative application designs and recommend solutions based on feasibility, functionality, usability, maintainability, and business value.
  • Workflow Optimization: Identify redundant activities, process bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation to streamline business operations.
  • Application Integration: Support the analysis and design of interfaces between applications, ensuring that information flows accurately and consistently across systems.
  • Testing and Validation: Collaborate with testing teams to develop test scenarios, validate functional requirements, investigate defects, and confirm that application workflows operate as expected.
  • Change Management Support: Assist with application updates, process changes, system enhancements, and the preparation of user documentation and training materials.
  • Data Analysis: Review relevant system data, reports, and operational metrics to identify trends, evaluate performance, and support evidence-based recommendations.
  • Risk and Compliance Management: Consider data security, access controls, privacy requirements, auditability, and applicable organizational policies during process design.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor implemented solutions, collect stakeholder feedback, and recommend further enhancements to improve system reliability and user satisfaction.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain accurate records of requirements, design decisions, dependencies, change requests, and implementation outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of systems analysis, application development life cycles, and business process design principles.
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating business and functional requirements.
  • Ability to create process maps, workflow diagrams, use cases, and functional specifications.
  • Familiarity with business process modeling techniques, such as BPMN, flowcharts, and UML.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, SQL queries, data structures, and basic data analysis.
  • Understanding of application integrations, APIs, system interfaces, and data exchange concepts.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or other software development methodologies.
  • Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Visio, Jira, Confluence, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate complex workflows and identify practical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements and communicate system concepts to different audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive approach to identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
Experience

Entry-Level Candidates: Recent graduates with relevant academic projects, internships, technical training, or a strong understanding of systems analysis and workflow design may be considered for junior opportunities.

Mid-Level Candidates: Previous experience analyzing business requirements, designing application workflows, coordinating with development teams, and supporting application implementation is preferred.

Experienced Candidates: Candidates with a proven track record of leading requirements workshops, designing complex application processes, managing system enhancements, and supporting cross-functional technology projects will be well suited to advanced responsibilities.

Experience with enterprise applications, workflow automation, ERP or CRM platforms, business process management systems, or application modernization projects would be an advantage.
