Job description

The Senior Business Analyst serves as the critical link between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring enterprise systems and business applications effectively support organizational objectives. This role is responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, identifying process improvement opportunities, supporting system implementations, and ensuring technology solutions align with business needs.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, business process expertise, enterprise systems knowledge, and exceptional presentation abilities to communicate complex concepts, drive stakeholder alignment, and deliver business value through technology-enabled solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand objectives, challenges, and system requirements.
• Conduct discovery sessions, interviews, workshops, and process reviews to gather and document business requirements.
• Create and maintain business requirements documents (BRDs), functional requirements documents (FRDs), user stories, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Analyze current-state and future-state business processes and identify opportunities for optimization and automation.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and requirements sessions to drive consensus and align business priorities.
• Present business requirements, process analysis findings, recommendations, and proposed solutions to stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Develop executive-ready presentations that translate complex business and technical information into clear, actionable insights.
• Partner with stakeholders to prioritize requirements based on business value, strategic objectives, and operational impact.

Applications / Systems Support

• Act as a functional expert for custom applications with large custom digital UI / UX interface. Experience with enterprise systems like ERP, CRM, etc. is also a plus.
• Partner closely with technical teams to convert business requirements into technical specifications. Working closely with UX designer and business teams to design and validate interfaces and screens.
• Validate proposed solutions to ensure alignment with business objectives and operational requirements.
• Participate in solution design reviews and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Support system adoption by helping stakeholders understand the business value and functionality of proposed solutions.
• Support IT teams to identify system enhancements, upgrades, configurations, integrations, and implementations.

Process Improvement & Business Transformation

• Evaluate business processes and identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks, and automation opportunities.
• Develop recommendations that improve operational efficiency, data quality, compliance, and user experience.
• Support digital transformation initiatives through process redesign and technology adoption.
• Conduct business case analysis and cost-benefit assessments for new initiatives and investments.
• Lead process improvement discussions and present findings to business leaders and project sponsors.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Develop test strategies, test scenarios, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans.
• Coordinate testing activities with business users and project teams.
• Verify that solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
• Track, document, and help resolve defects, issues, and enhancement requests.
• Provide clear communication and status reporting throughout testing cycles.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks for use in determining priority of requirements.
• Collaborate with reporting and analytics teams to define KPIs, dashboards, and reporting requirements.
• Support data governance initiatives and data quality improvement efforts.
• Assist with reporting solutions by documenting and validating business requirements.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams.

Project & Stakeholder Management

• Participate in business and technology projects using Agile methodologies.
• Manage stakeholder communications and expectations throughout project lifecycles.
• Facilitate meetings, workshops, training sessions, and project reviews.
• Support change management, communications, training, and user adoption efforts.
• Prepare and deliver effective project presentations, executive updates, and solution demonstrations.
• Build strong relationships across business and technology teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role.
• Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements.
• Strong understanding of business processes and enterprise applications.
• Experience working within Agile, Scrum delivery environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Outstanding written, verbal, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills with the ability to confidently present to technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language and actionable recommendations.

Preferred

• Experience with some enterprise platforms across Microsoft, Salesforce, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise platforms.
• Knowledge of SQL, reporting tools, and data analysis methodologies.
• Experience supporting business application integrations and enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar project management and collaboration tools.
• Experience delivering in healthcare administration and government industries.
