Job summary

OKTO Solutions in Trois-Rivières is seeking a Systems Administrator and Projects professional to plan, analyze, and deploy IT solutions for a range of SMB clients, from infrastructure review to go-live.

You will work within a bilingual MSP, coordinating with internal teams, delivering secure deployments, and maintaining documentation, with a flexible remote work policy and opportunities to work on-site in Trois-Rivières.

Qualifications

• DEC or AEC in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 3–6 years of information technology experience, including significant experience in systems administration.
• Excellent command of spoken and written French.
• Experience with Active Directory, LAN/WAN environments, firewalls, switches and wireless networks.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Exchange.
• Experience with backup and security solutions.
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell).
• Experience in change management, including risk analysis and mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Technical project planning: develop work plans with client validation and define steps, timelines and constraints.
• Environment analysis: assess client IT infrastructure and collect required data; identify risks and dependencies.
• Deployment of IT solutions: install, configure and deploy solutions including security standards.
• Documentation and follow-up: produce technical docs, update internal tools, ensure traceability of changes.
• Collaboration and knowledge transfer: communicate changes to support teams and ensure structured transfer at project end.

You plan and deliver our SMB clients’ IT projects, from analysing their existing infrastructure through to go-live. A systems and projects administrator role in Trois-Rivières: firewalls, switches, wireless networks, Windows Server, Microsoft 365 and Exchange, deployed to industry security standards.

The role

OKTO Solutions is looking for a systems and projects administrator to join its delivery team. You are responsible for the analysis, technical planning and execution of a range of IT projects at our clients, working with internal teams and stakeholders.

This role is key to delivering structured, secure deployments that meet industry best practices.

Hands-on experience in the field

In addition to remote support, you may be called on to work directly at client sites to put your knowledge into practice. IT specialists who demonstrate a high level of expertise can join a pool of on-site technicians, with compensation.

After the training period and once you have gained independence, you will be able to take advantage of our flexible remote work policy, with the option to work remotely or come to the office for events and team activities.

Key responsibilities

Technical project planning

• Develop technical work plans based on the scope validated with the client

• Define the steps, dependencies, timelines and technical constraints

• Ensuring budget and deadlines are met

Environment analysis

• Analyzing the client\'s existing IT infrastructure

• Gather all the technical information required to carry out the project

• Identify potential risks, dependencies and issues

Deployment of IT solutions

• Install, configure and deploy various IT solutions

• Deploy environments such as firewalls, switches, wireless networks, Microsoft 365, Exchange, antispam solutions, backups, etc.

• Applying security standards and MSP best practices

Documentation and follow-up

• Produce and maintain clear, complete technical documentation

• Update information in internal tools

• Ensuring traceability of changes and configurations

Collaboration and knowledge transfer

• Communicate changes effectively to the support teams

• Ensuring a structured knowledge transfer at the end of projects

• Collaborate with the teams responsible for recurring services

Skills and experience we are looking for

• DEC or AEC in a relevant field or equivalent experience

• 3 to 6 years of experience in information technology, including significant experience in systems administration

• Excellent command of spoken and written French
