Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• At least three years of systems administration or IT support experience.
• Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, switches and wireless systems.
• Experience with backups, cybersecurity and access controls.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer-service skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally between company locations.

Sunspace Modular Enclosures Inc. is seeking an experienced and service-oriented Systems Administrator to support the reliability, security and continued development of our technology environment.

Based at our Newcastle, Ontario location, the Systems Administrator will maintain and support our servers, networks, computers, Microsoft environment and other business technology. This position will provide hands‑on technical support to employees while helping strengthen our cybersecurity, system documentation and IT processes across multiple company locations.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain and support servers, networks, computers, printers and related IT infrastructure.
• Manage employee accounts, permissions, security groups and system access.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity and network issues.
• Set up equipment and system access for new employees.
• Coordinate IT requirements for employee onboarding and offboarding.
• Monitor backups, system performance, storage and network availability.
• Complete software updates, security patches and equipment maintenance.
• Support firewalls, switches, wireless networks and VPN connections.
• Assist with cybersecurity monitoring, incident response and security improvements.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of computers, mobile devices, software licences and other IT assets.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers to resolve issues and complete projects.
• Create and maintain system documentation, procedures and troubleshooting guides.
• Participate in system implementations, upgrades and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Provide occasional after-hours support for scheduled maintenance or urgent system issues.

What You Bring

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems, Network Administration or a related field.
• At least three years of systems administration, network support or related IT experience.
• Working knowledge of networking, including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, switches and wireless systems.
• Experience with backups, endpoint management, cybersecurity and access controls.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to prioritize requests and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience supporting multiple locations or a manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco or similar certifications are considered assets.
• A valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel occasionally between company locations.
