Job description

SAIT’s Information Technology Services department handles all software and hardware needs, as well as technological and networking issues for both employees and students who rely heavily on computer systems across our campuses. Technical support — including help with computer hardware and software problems, email, audio-visual needs, and more — is available to everyone at SAIT, whether the issue occurs at home or on-campus.

The Opportunity

The Technical System Analyst - Student position resides in the Cloud and Server Infrastructure team within the Information Technology Services department at SAIT. The team is responsible for the operational support and management of SAIT’s Cloud & Server infrastructure and applications.

The Role

1. Key responsibilities and duties include:

System Administration

• Maintaining and developing scripts to support messaging systems
• Day-to-day Cloud/Server Administration
• M365 Administration (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)
• Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, VMware)
• Azure Active Directory Administration
• System and service monitoring
• Backup and restore system administration
• vCenter administration
• Break/fix support

Miscellaneous

• Project support
• Documentation
• Attending meetings
• Other duties as assigned by management
• Participation in department committees (e.g., Health and Safety, Social, etc.)

Qualifications & Experience

• Must be a current SAIT student enrolled in and returning to SADT, Information Technology Services, or a related program.
• A 2-year diploma in information technology, programming, computer management, or related technical areas is required.
• Knowledge in System Administration, IT Support, and Automation/Scripting is preferred.
