Northern Health is seeking an experienced Switchboard Operator, Registration/Health Records Clerk to support the Health Records/Admitting department. Under supervision, the role operates switchboard, paging systems, registers patients, and handles cashier functions while responding to alarms and emergencies.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum typing speed of 45 wpm and complete medical terminology training. This on-site position requires efficient multitasking in a busy hospital setting.

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Switchboard Operator, Registration/Health Records Clerk to support the Health Records/Admitting department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position operates the switchboard, public address and paging systems accepting and directing calls from a variety of customers according to established policies, standards and procedures; receives and directs patients and visitors; registers patients; responds to and monitors hospital alarms and emergency codes; and performs a variety of clerical duties related to receiving and registering of patients, identifying bed booking options, and cashier functions.

• Min typing speed of 45 wpm required (testing will be conducted)
• Medical terminology 1-2 training is required (testing will be conducted)
