Northern Health is seeking an experienced Switchboard Operator, Registration/Health Records Clerk to support the Health Records/Admitting department. Under supervision, the role operates switchboard, paging systems, registers patients, and handles cashier functions while responding to alarms and emergencies.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum typing speed of 45 wpm and complete medical terminology training. This on-site position requires efficient multitasking in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm (testing will be conducted).
• Medical terminology training is required (testing will be conducted).

Responsabilités

• Operate the switchboard, public address and paging systems as directed.
• Receive and direct patients and visitors according to policies.
• Register patients and identify bed booking options.
• Respond to and monitor hospital alarms and codes.
• Perform cashier functions and related clerical duties for patient intake.
