Job summary

Join the Municipality of East Hants as a Swim Instructor at the East Hants Aquatic Centre. You will teach classes in a safe and engaging manner, develop long-term lesson plans, and maintain training records while providing constructive feedback to students.

Ideal candidates hold a Swim Instructor certification, Bronze Cross BWFA, and are comfortable with DEI&B in customer-focused environments. Scheduling may include daytime, evenings, or weekends, and employment is subject to required checks.

Qualifications

• Bronze Cross with BWFA (IWFA preferred).
• NL considered an asset (eligible to be considered for role including Lifeguard if have NL).
• Swim Instructor certification.
• Past experience with instructing aquatics classes, or a willingness to learn.
• Solid understanding of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in a customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Instruct classes in a safe, fun, and professional manner.
• Complete long-term lesson plans and maintain training records.
• Provide feedback to students and complete mid-term and final reports.
