Job summary

ParaMed is seeking a nurse specialized in wound, ostomy and continence care to join our nursing health care team. You will provide direct patient care, educate families, and support the care team with consultations for specialty products and nursing care.

A strong NSWOC/IIWCC/SWAN background is preferred. RN registration in good standing and at least 1 year of community wound care experience are required. This is a full-time role in home health with opportunities for leadership and career growth.

Qualifications

• N NSWOC/IIWCC/SWAN certifications required or considered.
• CNO registration as RN in good standing.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience, ideally in community or wound/ostomy/continence care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct practice to patients needing wound, ostomy and continence care.
• Educate ParaMed nurses, patients and families.
• Provide consultation to nursing teams (direct/remote) with product/care recommendations.
• Participate in wound/ostomy/continence leadership opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Precept ParaMed nurses as needed.
• Follow evidence-based wound/ostomy best practices and ParaMed policies.

This is a replacement and in this community nursing role, as a nurse specialized in wound care you will work as a part of the ParaMed nursing health care team to provide and promote evidenced based advanced wound, ostomy and continence assessment, management and care to all patient groups either through a consultative process or by direct care.

What you’ll do:

• Provide direct practice to patients requiring wound, ostomy and continence assessment, care and management.

• Provide education to ParaMed’s nursing health care team, patient, and families.

• Provide consultation /clinical support to ParaMed’s nursing health care team (direct/or remote) including recommendations for specialty products/nursing care.

• Participate in wound/ostomy/continence clinical leadership opportunities.

• Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

• Preceptor ParaMed nurses as required.

• Follow wound, ostomy and continence evidence based clinical best practices and ParaMed policies and procedures.

What you bring:

• Nurse Specialized in Wound Ostomy & Continence (NSWOC) OR

• International Interprofessional Wound Care Course (IIWCC).

• Skin Wellness Associate Nurse (SWAN).

• Other wound care certifications may be considered.

• Registration with the CNO as a Registered Nurse in good standing.

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a practicing Registered Nurse ideally in a community setting and/or providing wound/ostomy/continence care to patients (direct care/consultation)
