Job summary

ParaMed is seeking an RN with a university-level Wound Care certification to enhance nursing practice and ensure high-quality care. The role requires supervision of staff, collaboration with physicians, and adherence to care plans within a unionized environment.

Full-time position in Ontario with compensation detailed as $27.88 - $33.05 per hour. Reliable transportation to community home care sites is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold an RN license or be eligible for registration in the province.
• Wound Care certification completed at a university level.
• Experience in community or long-term care with nursing duties.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring resident/patient care is provided with established nursing standards and physicians’ orders.
• Assisting in assessment and monitoring of residents/patients; developing and evaluating care plans.
• Managing and evaluating the work of nursing and personal care staff on the unit; orientations and supervision.
• Monitoring performance and conducting appraisals; referring issues to the Director of Care.
• Provide direction to the nursing department in the absence of the Director of Care.

The IWCC RN will enhance the effective management and quality of nursing practice daily in keeping with the standards and expectations set out by governing bodies and internal policies and standards of care. Must have completed a certified course in Wound Care at a University level.

For both Non- Union and Union jobs, the below description will apply:

Responsibilities

1. Ensuring resident / patient care is provided with established nursing standards and principles, physicians’ orders and administrative policies
2. Assisting in the assessment and monitoring of residents / patients while working to develop, implement, review and evaluate resident/patient care plans
3. Managing and evaluating the work of nursing and personal care staff assigned to the unit, including orientations and other supervisory duties
4. Monitoring performance, conducting performance appraisals and referring problems to the Director of Care
5. Provide direction to the nursing department in the absence of the Director of Care

Qualifications

1. Appropriate current certificate of competence from the Approved Institutions for the province
2. Registered/eligible for registration with the Approved Professional Institutions for the province
3. Previous similar experience in Community or long-term care, with comprehensive knowledge of duties
4. Ability to work individually and as part of a team, to prioritize tasks in order of urgency
5. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and comprehension skills
6. Developed creative problem-solving skills to look at the “big picture”
