Job summary

  • Collect, record, and maintain audit data; ensure timely field documentation.
  • Assist with audit prep by identifying waste streams and assessing contamination.
  • Complete administrative tasks: expense reporting, audit time tracking, CV creation, photo logs.

Job Summary

The Sustainability Technician plays a key role in supporting our Waste Audit Division by participating in waste composition audits across Canada. Reporting to the Team Lead, Waste Audit Operations, this position is responsible for collecting and organizing field data, supporting audit operations, ensuring timely documentation, and contributing to the successful delivery of sustainability services for our clients. This role offers extensive field experience and frequent travel opportunities within Canada.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Conduct waste composition audits at industrial, commercial, municipal, and institutional facilities across Canada.
  • Collect, record, and maintain accurate audit data and ensure timely submission of field documentation.
  • Assist with audit preparation, including identifying waste streams, assessing contamination levels, and understanding regional waste acceptance criteria.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as expense reporting, audit time tracking, CV creation, and maintenance of detailed photo logs.
  • Follow and promote all health and safety protocols while working in field and industrial environments.
  • Collaborate with internal audit team members to ensure audit projects are completed efficiently and accurately.
What We Are Looking For
  • University degree or College Diploma in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience in sustainability, waste management, recycling, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of waste auditing practices and sustainability compliance regulations is considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and data management tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures and protocols.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within Ontario and across Canada.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate a company vehicle, including a Sprinter Van.
