Job description

We are seeking a talented Survey/Geomatics Technologist to join our survey operation in Edmonton. This position focuses on municipal survey projects, including processing survey data, calculations, plan preparation, and working within tight deadlines on various projects.

Responsibilities include:

1. Reviewing survey work scope and client requirements.
2. Liaising with Project Managers, Land Surveyors, and clients.
3. Preparing calculations from engineering and architectural drawings.
4. Preparing field files and performing calculations for survey layout.
5. Reviewing field returns for quality control and assurance.
6. Interpreting field data to prepare survey drawings, legal plans, and reports, including data processing and interpretation.
7. Preparing reports and survey plans for drafting.
8. Performing plan closures and checks.
9. Assisting with process improvements in plan production, quality assurance, and control.

Qualifications include:

• Post-secondary training in Surveying or Geomatics is an asset.
• Experience in the municipal sector.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.
• Experience with MicroSurvey CAD is an asset.
• Proficiency with MS Excel.
• Understanding of surveying principles, evidence, and Land Titles plan requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
• Strong teamwork and individual work skills.
• Effective time management and attention to detail.
