Job summary

Connexa Group in Fort McMurray seeks a Survey Crew Chief to lead field surveying across oilfield and construction sites, with a focus on accuracy and client communication.

You will supervise crew members, perform legal surveys in the Alberta Township System, and mentor assistants while working outdoors in all seasons; willingness to shift up to 21 days is required, and drone experience is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Geomatics.
• Experience leading a survey crew.
• Experience performing legal surveys in the Alberta Township System.
• Experience on industrial construction sites and remote bush conditions.
• Willing to complete shift work up to 21 days.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Drones experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Oilfield surveys including but not limited to wellsites, OSE programs, line locating, and pipelines.
• Construction surveys including facilities, layout, piles and pile caps, and civil works.
• Follow safety protocol and work outdoors in all seasons.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to survey assistants.
• Prepare clear, concise and accurate field notes, records and calculations.

who, ideally, has experience in both Construction and Oilfield Survey sectors and has a desire to grow and learn with an innovative, forward-thinking company.

The Work:

• Oilfield surveys including but not limited to wellsites, OSE programs, line locating, and pipelines
• Construction surveys including but not limited to facilities, layout, piles and pile caps, and civil works
• Willing and able to complete shift work lasting up to 21 days
• Work is outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions
• Follow safety protocol
• Provide guidance and mentorship to survey assistants
• Prepare clear, concise and accurate field notes, records and calculations
