Job summary

St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton is seeking Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) for a temporary 3‑month assignment in the Operating Room at Charlton Campus (Hamilton Downtown). The posting covers 6 full‑time positions, with dayshift hours and a 7.5‑hour shift.

The RPN provides patient-centred, evidence informed perioperative care, collaborates with the inter‑professional team, and adheres to College of Nurses of Ontario standards while pursuing ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Practical Nursing Diploma with IV medication administration in curriculum.
• Practical Nursing Diploma with IV medication administration certificate if not included in curriculum.
• Minimum of 2 years current surgical/medical clinical experience.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Ability to function to the full scope of nursing practice.
• Effective communication with patients, families and health care team.
• Completion of 9-week in-house Peri-operative Certificate Program.
• RPNAO or other professional association membership preferred.
• Good attendance.
